With Google Pay, Google offers its users a fast and secure payment experience both online and offline. Your customers no longer need to insert their debit card into the payment terminal. Users who own an Android smartphone can easily pay with Google Pay.
This also allows your customers to make purchases in apps without entering payment details.
Google Pay
Before your customers can make purchases using this payment method or want to deposit money into their Google Pay account, they must first add one or more payment methods. The payment methods accepted in the Netherlands for Google Pay are debit card (Maestro), credit card (American Express, Mastercard and Visa) and PayPal. Based on these payment methods, Pay. processes the payment(s) on the specific card.
Google Pay uses physical authentication methods for payments over 25 euros. These are secured by an access code or fingerprint ID. When your customer makes a payment, Google Pay does not send the credit or debit card number along with the payment. Instead, the Google Wallet app generates a virtual account number that represents the user's account information. This service keeps your customers' payment information private and sends a one-time security code instead of the card or user information. This process goes entirely through the latest Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) standards. Pay. then receives and processes this data securely through the chosen route.
